Dan Schleifer
Dan started his rugby career at the University of California at San Diego in 1984. Dan played all four years and was Captain and president in 1988. During this time, they were Southern California College division champs in 1987 and 1988. After college, Dan played his club rugby for Mystic River in Boston from 1988 to 2001 and was club captain in 1995. Dan was selected to represent New England RFU All-Stars from 1993-2000.
Maccabi USA Rugby
Dan first represented Maccabi USA Rugby at the 1990 Battle of New Orleans where the team defeated the Western RFU All-Stars. Over the next seven years, Dan played in most Maccabi USA Rugby events as a flyhalf. The 1991 Pan Am Maccabi Games in Uruguay, the 1993 ITTs in Denver, the 1994 Magnificent Sevens in Toronto, the 1995 Pan Am Maccabi Games in Argentina. Dan played in the 1993 and 1997 Maccabiah Games. The team won a Silver Medal in 1993 and Dan was a key member of the 1997 Gold Medal Team; the first Gold Medal won by Maccabi USA in Israel. Dan also volunteered at several tryouts for the Games after 1997 providing valuable insight during the selection process.
