Greg Schor Haskin

While attending Hofstra University on a football scholarship, Greg played rugby in the spring of his sophomore season. He would play limited games due to football spring schedule and played with OMEX for 7’s. After graduating from Hofstra, Greg went on to play for Old Blue before moving back to Florida and playing with Ft. Lauderdale. Greg went to Life College on a rugby scholarship for Chiropractic school and after graduating, moved back to Florida and played for Orlando RFC. After relocating back to South Florida, Greg proceeded to play with New York Old Blue in the Super League for 3 years flying up to play games. Greg achieved rugby success beyond the club level and played Select side rugby. On the National level, Greg played for: The USA Eagle B’s; Team America World Rugby Classic 1999-2003 and USA Rugby League. At the Territorial All-Star level, Greg represented: Eastern Rugby Union at various levels -collegiate, U-23, Senior 7’s and XV’s; The South for 7’s and XV’s. At the Local Union, Greg represented MET NY and Florida.

Greg played numerous tournaments for the Invitational side, Atlantis 7’s. He went on overseas tours to Trinidad 3 times, Spain twice and Venezuela, Argentina, Canada, Uruguay, Fiji
After playing, Greg got into coaching. Greg has coached the USA U-18 Boys 7’s, USA Women’s 7’s assistant Hong Kong, Wellington, USA. North American Lions 7’s Dubai , North American Barbarians 7’s RugbyTown, USA Rugby South 7’s men and women’s, Atlantis 7’s Men’s Women and youth . Greg continues to coach to today and is the father of current Maccabi USA Rugby player, Chase.

Maccabi USA Rugby

Greg first represented the USA at the 1991 Pan Am Maccabi Games in Uruguay. Greg made the 1993 Maccabi USA Rugby team and played in the 1993 ITTs in Denver and the 1993 Maccabiah Games where he was a Silver Medalist. Greg also played in the 1995 Worcester Sevens with Maccabi team. Greg was the 2009 and 2013 Maccabiah team assistant coach where both teams won Bronze. Greg was instrumental in coaching the 2013 USA team to the first ever 7’s Gold Medal.
